Annual aerial reviews, similar to what you see on Google Maps, are captured by COID to review beneficial use of water rights on all properties within the COID boundary.
These aerials are taken every June.
The aerials are a snapshot in time and a baseline for collecting beneficial use data.
Staff grade the aerials and document what is dry and what is irrigated. COID staff also completes boots on the ground site reviews to document the beneficial use of a water right.
COID relies heavily on you, the patron, to provide documentation of beneficial use.
Take before/after photos of your crop, save receipts for the purchase of seed, irrigation supplies, and labor.
Submit supporting beneficial use documentation to edu@coid.org.
Don’t have an email address? Stop by the District office as COID Staff enjoys every opportunity to chat with you in person, answer questions and hear about your improvements.
