Resources

We are excited to have you as part of our community and want to ensure that your experience with us is as smooth and enjoyable as possible. As water service through an irrigation district may be new and unique for you, we’re here to introduce ourselves and provide some helpful information.

It’s important to note that irrigation water is unsuitable for human consumption or domestic purposes like drinking, bathing, showering, dishwashing, cooking, or maintaining oral hygiene. Your health and safety are our top priorities, so please keep this in mind.

We invite you to read our patron handbook to help you familiarize yourself with our District’s rules, regulations, and history. The field book offers a comprehensive overview that we believe you’ll find valuable.

COID supplies the water to your property. Depending on your location, the water may be delivered by another provider. If you have any questions or require assistance regarding the water delivery, your dedicated patrolman, also known as a ditchrider, can assist you. Your patrolman delivers irrigation water to water users and performs maintenance.

In addition, we understand that you might need to contact the District for various reasons. If you have any inquiries about your yearly assessment, please feel free to get in touch with us at 541-548-6047. Our friendly staff is available to assist you and address any concerns.

Once again, welcome to the Central Oregon Irrigation District! We’re excited to embark on this journey with you and look forward to ensuring a seamless and rewarding experience. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or require any assistance.

COID Patron  Handbook

COID’s handbook is an educational tool to help you understand district policies and procedures, as well as help you keep your water rights in good standing. Owning land with water rights comes with many rules and responsibilities. Should you have any questions, please call the office or email us. The COID website is the best place to stay up-to-date on current information about the district.

Our office hours are from 7 am–4 pm and we have an emergency answering service for after-hours water issues. You can also email us with any questions you might have. We look forward to serving you as a COID Patron. Phone: 541-548-6047 Email: info@coid.org

Point of Delivery

In general, the District’s Point of Delivery (POD) for irrigation water will be at the high point on each 40-acre tract. Measurement devices are required at these points and are now in place or in the process of being placed. Conveyances beyond these points are private, and it is the responsibility of the patrons past the POD to maintain them satisfactorily. If this is not possible, arrangements must be made with the District to perform maintenance on them. The District makes its equipment and personnel available as time allows. If you want a project quote, please get in touch with our office.

District head gates are required to be locked for the protection of all water users. Any person tampering with the District’s distribution system is subject to prosecution under the laws of Oregon.
