COID generates two different types of water right maps

Water Right Map
The yellow lines represent the irrigated lands and identify the areas the patron must apply COID irrigation water. The water right points, identified by a pink dot and acre amount, shows how many water right acres are associated with the mapped area.
The areas without yellow lines do not contain water rights. COID irrigation water cannot be applied to these areas. Water must only be applied within the mapped area.
Use the legend on the top right-hand corner of the map to see an explanation of other features.
This map does not show beneficial use of the water right and cannot be used for land use submittals.
Beneficial Use Map
A beneficial use map shows detailed information of the use of the irrigation water right commonly referred to as “the standing of the water right.”
Think about this map as a report card showing the beneficial use of the water right.
Notice the different colors and shading on the map. The legend in the top right-hand corner of the map identifies what the colors mean.
The yellow hachure area shows where the irrigated lands are mapped and indicate use in the current or previous season depending on the time the patron requests the map.
Water rights in yellow hachure on the beneficial use map are in excellent standing.
The bright red cross hachure area represents water last beneficially used in the 2020 season.
Notice part of the water last used in 2020 is mapped over a structure.
